Music Festivals of 2018

Festival season is by far my favourite time of year. In 2018 I attended a few Music Festivals and hadn’t yet got around to reviewing them. I went to Reading Festival with the Coop, Bestival & British Summertime along with my friend Sophie & L’Oreal. Each year I like to try different festivals so I can give a good honest review based on others I have experienced. You can see other write-ups I have done on my Travel page. Continue reading to see more on the festivals I went to & plan on attending in 2019.

Reading Festival

Reading Festival was my favourite of the year because I got to spend it with Chris and some of the best bands played. Firstly we stayed in a quiet campsite which was especially for disability access. Because of my Crohns, I applied to stay there and it helped so much to have a quieter campsite and relaxed surroundings. In the main arena, it was insanely busy which took it’s toll sometimes. It was also dirty with rubbish littered everywhere. That is always part and parcel of going to a festival but out of everyone I have been too the mess here was unbelievable.

On the Friday Post Malone was headlining which meant a lot of the crowd were younger and also crazier haha. On Saturday the Fall Out Boy was the headliner and the crowd seemed a lot more relaxed. It was an awesome day, the weather was great and we watched some of our favourite bands. Overall I would definitely go again, especially with staying in the Access camping. It was so much fun hanging out with Chris for the weekend and soaking up the music and atmosphere.

British Summertime

British Summer Time Festival is a day festival in London Hyde Park. Sophie asked me along as her plus one and we went with L’Oreal hair. They had a stand there on the day to get fun hairstyles done using the LOreal Hair Makeup. We both had our hair done and hung out in the guest lounge area. There were some really cute props to take photos with and drinks.

Later on, we went to watch Bruno Mars who was amazing live! This is a great day festival for anyone who loves pop music. Check out this year’s headline acts, that includes Florence & The Machine. Soak up the same atmosphere as a weekend festival without the camping.

Bestival

Last but not least I finally got to experience Bestival! It lived up to its hype and was a colourful explosion of decorations, music, DJ’s and shows. The theme for 2018 was circus which made the experience even more awesome. I went along with Charlotte and we camped alongside Siana and Ella, which was a good laugh.

My favourite act was London Grammar and Grace Jones. At the Temple stage was amazing DJ’s every night that played a mashup of genres. We danced so much and it always feels so good wearing sequins and glitter and letting go. I really enjoyed Bestival for how much there is to see and do but I probably wouldn’t go every year. I would check the line up and theme and go depending on what this was. Overall though it’s definitely worth the ticket price for how much there is going on over the weekend.
