Wedding planning can be a challenging experience for many of us. It can feel like a battle of trying to please everyone but yourself and your partner. It’s so important for Wedding Planning to be fun and done in your way. This can be really tough but with a few of the below tips it will make it easier.

Wedding Planning Tips

Have a vision of your day in the exact way you want it to go. I found writing it down in a word document really helped to visualise it. It’s important to research different wedding day run throughs and get an idea of what would suit you and your partner. It’s perfectly okay to go with traditional wedding plans if that is what you like it’s just about sticking to your guns. Once you have a rough idea of how you want the day to be, the rest will follow.

Talk Openly

Talk openly to relatives about your intensions for the day and traditions you want and don’t want to action. This can sometimes be the hardest thing to do when you want your families acceptance more than anyone. It’s also more common for families to have more of a voice whether it’s wanted or not. What is important is you speak to them early, let things sink in and have the courage to stand for what you believe in. You can’t please everyone in every scenario so try compromise in areas and put you and your partner first.

Stick to your guns

Don’t compromise if you strongly believe in your vision and something you’re passionate about. I believe that if you really want to do something then you have to do it. There will be times when you feel no one else see’s your vision or understands the way you think but that’s okay. The only thing that matters in this scenario is that you do what feels right for you. A lot of compromises can come from the ceremony or table arrangements and it can become quite tricky to please everyone. Make sure relatives all feel special or important in some way and go with your instinct in other areas.

Get visual

Map out the theme visually as a tool to share with others and stay on track. I’ve been using magazines, Pinterest, powerpoint presentations and scrapbooks. As I am a very visual person often so many ideas can feel overwhelming, especially when going Pinterest mad. Refine your search by choosing a theme or wedding colour and sticking with it. Once you have that one aspect to focus in on the planning becomes a lot smoother and easier to digest in chunks. If you struggle with the visual aspect then hire a wedding or events planner and they can help with this.

Do it for you!

That is it for my Wedding Planning tips although I could probably write lots more! These are the main and fundamental things you need to focus on in order to plan the day in your way. It’s about marrying the person you love and doing what suits you guys as a couple. The amount of money and hard work that goes into a wedding should mean you prioritise yourselves and then small compromises to everyone else. If you still can’t make certain people happy then that lies with them and not you. Keep your chin up, try find ways to make people feel special and most of all do what feels right for you and your partner.
