Welcome back to another DIY post this time to create a Pompom Beach Bag perfect for holidays and summer style. It’s super easy to create, doesn’t take long and doesn’t break the bank. This style of bag is in a lot of stores right now but why have one everyone else can buy when you can make your own. This way it’s more personalised, you can choose the colours and go full on with loads of pompoms if you want to. Carry on reading if you would like to see how to create it.
What you need:
For this tutorial you will need a wicker bag. I got given this one but they can be easily found on Ebay or in Charity Shops. Once you have a bag you want to work on the rest is easy. You will need:
- Wool for the pompoms, I went for pink, blue and mint green.
- Pompom trim – Ebay
- Glue Gun – Hobbycraft
- Scissors
- Pompom maker – Hobbycraft
If you’re thrifty and find a bag on a budget then you can easily make this DIY bag for under £15. IF like me and you already own the glue gun, scissors and wool then it will cost way under £10! Super inexpensive and easy to do.
Steps:
It’s really as easy as it looks in the photos. Heat up your glue gun and decide where you want your pompom trim to be on the bag. I followed the natural weave of the wicker but you can do as little or as much as you want. Once the glue gun is hot start at the sides and glue as you stick down the trim. I followed the trim all around the bag to cover both sides.
Once your trim is on you can make your pompoms. I made 6 for each side of the bag so a total of 12 pompoms. Really simple just glue on each pompom and the bag is finished. If you create it then please share using my hashtag #PaigeJoannaDIY
