Reflecting on Summer & 6 Months Freelance

At the start of Spring I started my Freelance journey and it’s now been 6 months with Summer coming to an end. Reflecting on the previous months feels like an entire year, with some amazing memories and achievements been made. I wanted to write up an update on what’s to come as well as reflect on my journey so far.

6 Months Freelance

I went freelance at the start of April and since then my life is flying by. I feel like everything I have worked hard at for years is all finally paying off. With my 2 day a week part time role with Red agency going really well and my own blog and social media work hitting it off. Everything has gone so much better than I could have ever expected, but of course it’s been a stressful journey to get to this point.

Don’t get me wrong, there are days where I am gritting my teeth not knowing when my rent money will come in. It’s hard work with literally no days off each week. I work 7 days a week but can start most days when I want, meaning I can sleep in! Having a Chronic illness and being able to sleep in is bliss some days. But I also work often until 2am to get deadlines met or videos edited.

Overall, being freelance is all I could have ever wanted. I feel free to be myself for the first time in years. I am my own boss 5 days of the week and I feel proud of the money I earn. I’d be lying if I said it was easy but it really does suit me as an individual. Here is hoping the success has longevity as I am working so much everyday to make my work count for something and have a future goal in mind.

Achievements

Without being too conceited I wanted to go over my achievements of the past 6 months. Leaving my full time career took a big leap of faith. I have to keep reminding myself that I worked hard to get to this point and also lucky to experience amazing things.

This year I got to travel to Shanghai, China with a brand I met through blogging. It was an incredible trip and the furthest from home i’d ever been. My blogging also took me to several summer festivals such as El Dorado (with Festicket), Blissfields, Isle of White, Love Box and Tramlines. This was because I got to work with brands such as Mi-Pac, McDonalds and more! As well as this my friend Sophie Hannah Richardson invited me to Ibiza with Malibu. I feel so lucky to have met such an inspiring friend, who is killing the influencing industry. The trip was so much fun and honestly couldn’t have been with better people.

The past 6 months I was also shortlisted for the Blogosphere Arts & Crafts Blogger of the Year award! Overall, it’s been a whirlwind of busy days, London events, meeting great people and hard work.

Goals for Autumn & Winter

So with the past 6 months being a whirlwind of changes in my life I am looking forward to another 6 months ahead. I have several goals but my main ones are to grow my channels such as 20k followers on Instagram, 10k on Youtube and to blog at least once a week. It sounds easy but it’s honestly such hard work to achieve so many things to a high standard.

I hope you have enjoyed everything I have been doing and I thank you for all the support over the past 6 months and beyond. This post was such a great way to reflect on the summer months and everything thats been going on. What’s been your favourite thing on my blog, Instagram, YouTube etc? I would love to know.
