Decorating a Rented Property | Bedroom Decor Ideas

Having moved recently into our new property we have spent some time decoration and making the place feel like home. When we moved in the entire place needed some TLC which we were glad to do. With having a rental property there can be some restrictions on decorating but we were very lucky to get the sign off to re-paint in neutral shades. Bedroom Decor Ideas

My bedroom decor has really come together over the past couple of months. It was the one room in the house I had a clear vision in mind for the look. I’d previously started collecting things before we moved so I was prepared to get it done asap. The wall macrame hanging I brought back from Bali and was super cheap on a market stall out there. I wanted to go for a bohemian, blush pink, gold and botanical style for the room. I’d seen lots of beautiful inspiration on my Pinterest which aided my choices for details. The gold touches give a luxurious feel to the decor but I kept it fun with bright cushions and my jackets exposed on the clothes rail.

Before & After

Before, when we first moved in. The property was clean and tidy but a little tired. We re-painted the entire house in neutral shades and once that was done it looked so much better.

The room now looks fresh and airy with minimal decorations but with a splash of bright prints. My DIY bedside tables add an expensive look to the room but were made for under 40 pounds each.

Ziito Apps Clothes Rail

When styling my bedroom decor I knew I wanted a statement piece to show some of my jackets. As I own several jackets as well as paint them I thought it would make a cool feature. Ziito Apps have the most incredible range of clothing rails that have an industrial feel but can be used in homes or shops. When it arrived we knew it was amazing quality based on the weight of it. Putting it together was really simple to do and within minutes the room looked incredible. I love the cool statement look in the bedroom with the pop of colour of my jackets on it. The added shelf at the top was the perfect addition for adding little decor pieces. Having a rental property means fewer things on the walls the better, so the shelf is a lovely touch. Tying the bedroom decor together I stuck to gold hangers from Wilkinsons for only 3  pounds.

There are still things I want to do to the room before I can say it’s finished. Overall though I am loving how it is coming together and all the elements make it feel like the perfect place to relax.
