Taking Risks & Following My Dreams

I have some wonderful news to share after what feels like the longest journey to get to this point. I am finally going FULL TIME with my wonderful online blog and brand, Paige Joanna. Taking risks in this industry has been a learning curve for me and finally i’m at the point I can take this further. To achieve my dream of working for myself is so surreal but also amazing.

Following my Dream

The opportunity to resign from my full time job and take on the freelance life came a few weeks ago. I’ve been slowly getting busier and busier over the past couple of years and recently had a lot of opportunities come my way. A few weeks ago I realised I was getting an overwhelming amount of things come in. As amazing as this is, working full time means turning a lot down due to time and holiday allowance. After assessing my yearly accounts (tax year is nearly closing) and the influx of work I decided to take the leap!

This hasn’t been an easy decision for me financially but mentally I’ve been ready for this for a long long time. I’ve always wanted to work for myself and follow my own pursuits. So finally, after years of working on this online blog and brand i’m finally taking the next step into making it a long term career.

It’s been a long time coming, with plenty of late nights, free work, low points and amazing collaborations to get to where I am. I may not be the most popular on Instagram or have a following like Zoella but I am ready to try. What you guys have taught me is to embrace my own quirks and learn to love what I do.

Taking Risks

Some people have said to me I am taking a big risk in this decision but if not now, when?

We all learn by our progression and often our mistakes so now is the perfect time to take this leap in my life. I don’t have any responsibilities like a mortgage, children, pets or any debts. I’ve been saving up for months, essentially working 3 different jobs in order to do this whilst living in London. I’ve managed all of this whilst living and being treated with my Crohn’s disease and I have managed it all with much hardship and passion. Meeting amazing friends and professionals along the way and creating lasting relationships with people has really helped me.

Whats to come

Now that I can finally dedicate all my time and energy into this online brand I have created I have so many ideas to pursue. Think lots more DIY’s, crafts, tutorials, YouTube videos and sharing my life with you all. If there is anything you want to see let me know in the comments! I want this platform to be a chatty, friendly and relatable place for us and I want my content to reflect this voice. That is why I also started The Health Diaries series on my Channel to discuss and open up about certain topics.

I’m so excited to grow with you all, whether you have followed me since the beginning or are a new follower, thank you for making my dreams come true. I hope you can continue to support my content, let’s do this!
