Hair Removal at Pulse Light Clinic

The world of hair removal can be a complex one and one with many options available. I’ve tried several things without any longevity or good results. When I heard about laser hair removal thats more permanent I knew I had to give it a go. After several months and 4 treatments I wanted to share my experience. I’ve been going to the wonderful Pulse Light Clinic to have my underarms treated. Below I talk about the process and my results so far.

The Laser Removal Process

I decided on my underarms for the laser hair removal because it is a smaller area it meant I could try it out first. Before your appointment make sure the area is shaved and clear of any hair. The process for underarms is so fast because the laser treatment doesn’t take long at all on smaller areas.

Laser hair removal works by targeting the hair follicle with laser light, this energy damages and goes on to destroy the hair follicle, thus stopping the follicle from producing further hairs. The laser delivers an intense beam of light, which is absorbed by the hair follicle whilst the surrounding tissue remains unaffected. (quoted from the Pulse Light Clinic website).

Following the treatment the skin can feel a little sensitive for a day or two. Once it settles you may notice hair still growing, this is older hair coming out of the follicle. With every session you’ll begin to notice hair growth becoming patchier and a lot less thick. Depending on your hair type it can take between 4 and 8 sessions of removal for complete removal or thinning of hair.

Results after 4 Treatments

I have had 4 sessions now on my under arms and am already seeing a huge difference. Before I would have to shave every other day and everyday on holiday! My hair grew quite dark and felt very thick and stubby. Now after 4 treatments it’s nearly been a week and I can’t see any sign of growth.

After the first and second treatment my hair felt thinner but it still grew at a normal rate albeit softer. Strangely after the third session my hair grew back slowly but felt thick again which I was unsure as to why. Now it has been 4 sessions I have definitely seen a difference in growth speed and thickness. For me I would say I am already happy with the progress and probably only require a couple more sessions. The specialists will be able to give feedback and tell you how it’s going in terms of how many you may need.

Pulse Light Clinic

Pulse Light Clinic

If you have always considered a more permanent form of hair removal then I couldn’t recommend Pulse Light Clinic enough. My treatments have been fast, professional and relatively pain free. Laser hair removal feels slightly strange but isn’t any worse than a hot wax or having to shave every day!

The new clinic at Fenchurch Street just opened and is not only much bigger but is an easy central London location and lovely inside. If you book at this clinic for a limited time only they are offering 1 underarm removal treatment for £45 (normally £83) so a huge saving. Just quote blogger discount and my name ‘Paige Joanna’ when you book to get the reduction. Please note this is only valid at the Fenchurch Street Clinic.

I’ll update my blog again after a few more treatments. I hoped this helped give insight into hair removal, what it is and the process. It’s definitely worth the money in the long run for a more permanent solution it’s been a huge weight off not having to shave everyday! Now just to do my legs…
