If you were to look through old Christmas photos, chances are you’d be able to find a few of you or your family members donning hideous Christmas Jumpers. Fortunately, they’ve gotten a little more stylish over the last decade.

According to research conducted by Voucherbox, 8.5 million Brits spent a collective £260 million on Christmas jumpers last year. I’m not sure how much will be spent on festive knitwear this year but they continue to be popular. I thought I’d share a few cheap yet chic options that will up your Christmas game without breaking your bank. As you can see I have worn my fair share of jumpers over the years so I love getting a new one each year.

Christmas Jumper Must Have List:

1. Cream Pug Jumper, New Look – £17.99

If you love pugs and Christmas (and puns), then this is the perfect jumper for you! Below the funnel neckline yet above the ribbed trim sits the sweetest sequin lettering and pug picture I’ve ever seen on a sweater. ‘Bah Hum Pug’ is also pretty cute as far as Christmas adages go. New Look suggests wearing this with a green velvet skirt, but I reckon this will go with almost anything.

2. Christmas Sequin Jumper, H&M – £14.99

This Christmas jumper is truly one of a kind. Whilst at first it seems like your average long-sleeved piece with a somewhat cheesy emblem, that ‘ho, ho, ho’ has a secret. The sequins are actually reversible so when you stroke it up you get a red speech bubble with the Christmas saying, but if you stroke it down you get ‘no, no, no’ on a white background. Perfect for anyone who wants a break from all the festive nonsense or just wants to wear this cute jumper without advertising Christmas.

There’s also another version of this jumper in white, which says ‘Sleigh All Day’ or ‘Sleep All Day’ depending on which motif you’d prefer.

3. Merry Chic Mas Jumper, New Look – £7

The product photo isn’t the best, but I can imagine this looking great with everything. If you’re feeling a more casual vibe the ‘Merry Chic Mas’ jumper is long enough to wear with leggings. That rounded neckline would look great with a collar poking through the top as well.

4. Red Reindeer Jumper, Boohoo – £15

If you love traditional, Skandi-style Christmas jumper this one from Boohoo is a bargain. Sure, it’s easy to find similar-looking sweaters but do they have reindeers, icicles and little hearts instead of dots? I don’t think so. Plus, it’s made from 100% acrylic so even the most inept knitwear-washers among us can stick this in the washing machine without stretching or shrinking it.

5. Cat Sequin Jumper, H&M – £14.99

Now, how could I possibly share the best Christmas jumpers of 2016 without a cat one? You’ll be warm and cosy due to the long sleeves and also look pretty snazzy expressing your elf.

6. I’m A Believer Jumper, Monki – £20

Finally, this cute minimalist jumper is perfect for any occasion, whether you want to bring a little festivity into the office or into an everyday outfit without going over the top. The jumper is made from cotton and features a fleece lining so you’ll be able to stay warm no matter the weather.

With such an array of festive jumpers to choose from online there is really no excuse not to get into the festive spirit! Have an amazing Christmas and enjoy wearing your fun jumpers.
