5 Ways to Relax & Unwind in The Winter

As some of you may have seen, I put together a post on ways to stay happy during the winter. A lot of people including myself suffer from SAD, Seasonal Effective Disorder. Following on from this post I wanted to write another, with 5 ways to relax and unwind during the winter.

Winter evenings can feel really cold and dull but here are 5 things you can do to relax, Unwind and keep yourself busy.

1. Indulgent bubble bath.

Treat yourself to some lovely bubble bath, my favourite is the muscle relax one from Radox. Run a hot bath with some of this and light scented candles. Creating a calm atmosphere that smells nice is really important for unwinding. The hot water will feel great on tired cold skin, soaking it in will be just what you need after long day. If you don’t have a bath, then shower with some calming music, lather up your favourite body wash and put on some cosy socks once you’ve dried off.

2. Online Games.

Get tucked up in a blanket, with a hot drink and play some fun games. I love watching Chris play PS4 as I’m not great at video games, but one thing I can do is play Bingo. Many sites have promotions for new players including mFortune, which has a £5 bonus deposit. A few games of mobile bingo whilst cosy on the sofa is perfect for a night indoors. Usually Chris will be playing his own thing in the background as well, so we can still sit together.

3. Reading.

As much as I love to read I rarely get time to do so! I have so many books on my ‘to read’ list right now which I will get round to. Reading has to be one of the best ways to unwind before bed at night. In winter treat yourself to more early nights and soak in a good book. If like me you just don’t have time to do that, then read up some fashion articles on Who What Wear. This is my favourite online magazine for current Fashion News and style advice.

4. Pin Away! My addiction to Pinterest is ever lasting, as you will probably know if you follow me. Any hour of the day if I want to unwind, get motivation or just look up things that make me happy then I go on Pinterest. I love creating boards of all different themes and collecting images to come back to for reference. It is also a great way to get crafting ideas, which in the winter is a fun hobby to partake in.

5. Hot Chocolate.

Treating yourself is just as important as relaxing and unwinding. The perfect wintery treat has to be Hot Chocolate, especially with mini marshmallows. My current favourite is the Options 40 calories instant hot chocolate! Have a cup in your favourite mug and enjoy.

We all need time to unwind, relax and look after ourselves all year round, but especially in the winter. With all the sickness going round and cold nights it’s easy to feel under the weather. Hopefully these 5 ways to relax and unwind will start you off in the right direction and enable you to feel good
