Best Travel Apps to Navigate London!

Since living in one of the busiest cities in the world I have found myself using apps more and more to help me get around. I thought it might be quite helpful to put together a post for you on the ones that I use and a few hints and personal tips I have learned whilst navigating London.

Firstly check out this Columbus travel gadget guides, where they show you what products can be useful when going away somewhere. For me my favourite has to be the head phone splitter, as Chris and I often use one when on the tube or bus together!
In London, here are the apps I use to get around:
– Citymapper
Also known as ‘THE LIFE SAVER’. When I first moved to London I used to use the tube map and National Rail app, and made my life extremely difficult, umming and ahhing as to where to go. With this app you can put in the place or post code of where you are, and where you want to go and it does EVERYTHING. Tells you the most recommended route as well as how to walk places, tells you what busses to get, if you click on that bus number it tells you how far away it is and more! It’s a fantastic thing to use if you are crap with getting anywhere, like me!

– Uber
This is a taxi service, so if you prefer to let a car do all the travelling for you then these guys are the ones. This app is great because you can turn on your location services and it will tell you what cars are available in the area. It also shows a photo of the driver with their details, so you know who you are getting and gives you a bit of reassurance. Also it isn’t at all over priced and you can pay by Paypal!

-Google Maps

We must all use this from time to time and when you are more into your walking then this app is fab. Just pop in the road name or post code and you’re away!

I hope you found this helpful if you are coming to visit London or like me have just moved here! Good luck and I hope you don’t get lost 🙂
