Outfits of 2013

I did a similar post to this last year and as Megan from The Briar Rose has put together another for 2013 I thought it would be rude not to do the same, to recap on my outfits this year. Looking back on how this year has gone through my blog it really has been completely erratic! Some great highlights, like graduating, and moving into my own place but mainly what has surrounded this year is being ill a lot. I am really hoping 2014 is different in that respect. I think the summer months were my happiest this year and it shows in my outfits as I look more confident and comfortable! I hope you have enjoyed my blog during 2013 whether it has been an outfit post you enjoyed, a DIY or a more personal lifestyle post. I appreciate your support and all the followers who keep coming back. You all make this small place on the internet somewhere I can just be me and feel appreciated, thank you.

JANUARY, FEBRUARY, MARCH

At the start of the year I had been going through a lot of stress, my health had deteriorated, my sister was recovering from an operation and I was undergoing my last full on year at university. I think, looking back now, that it really all just got to much for me, I ended up wasting a lot of time at home, cancelling on plans and really not making the most of things. Things weren’t all drab though, on valentines day I chopped quite a lot of my hair off and the fresh bob length was refreshing, and although I prefer it long, I think it looks really sweet. I enjoyed being girly in my style but also comfortable, wearing a lot of vintage trends.

APRIL, MAY, JUNE

Spring is one of my favorite times of the year, the sign of new hope. For me, it was a time of hard work and getting all my work done for deadlines. I am so proud of myself for how hard I worked through this time and for getting back on track after a bad start to the year. Spring is my favorite time for fashion as you can get away with wearing girly and pastel colours but layering is still crucial on colder days, it’s the perfect time to dress girly and sweet.

JULY, AUGUST, SEPTEMBER

These few months I experienced a lot of change in such a small space of time. I graduated, was unemployed, lost a lot of friends who moved back home and my boyfriend moved in with me and my dad! It was a crazy time, and although up and down I look back and I think it may have been my happiest months of the year. Complete freedom, to be and do whatever I wanted. Yes, I didn’t have a job or much money but I spent most of my days blogging and gaining more confidence in myself and my new life. I enjoyed a lot of time in the sun and with my family, and that was so enjoyable and fun. I loved how carefree all of my outfit posts seem to be and how much more happy and confident I look. Lets hope this summer is just as full of all these things.

OCTOBER, NOVEMBER, DECEMBER

At the start of October, I not only had a new job but I moved into my own place with my lovely boyfriend. It was a complete life change and one I am still getting used to! It was so much fun having wonderful places around me (and still is) to photograph my outfits, and I feel the past few months I have grown up so much. My outfits really resemble that, sometimes being a lot more minimalistic, mixing things I probably never would have before. I think having a lot less time on my hands means I have learnt to adapt to wearing comfort over fashion and appreciating times when I can go all out and dress in what I like. To go from the summer months carefree and without a purpose, a job or anything, to all this responsibility, it’s very strange. I have settled nicely though and although my illness is back in full swing at the moment, I feel so much more sure of myself and where I want to be in 2014. All I can hope for is that my health gets better and then I can really do all the things I want to do and what I want to become. I’m sure there will be a lot of outfits to help me along the way as well.

Lastly, sorry for a quiet few weeks here on my blog, I hope you continue to enjoy reading my posts in 2014 and follow my journey through my personal style and my lifestyle posts. All the best and happy new year to you all!
