Today’s post is something a bit different! A few weeks ago I met a lovely fellow blogger called Lisa, from Topaz and May. We met at the Southampton blog meet up and hit it off straight away, because she lives so close it means we see each other regularly. After some girly chatter and lots of moaning texts about how neither of us can afford new clothes and are feeling a bit blue about our wardrobes, we decided to do something about it. Lisa came up with a plan to go to each others houses and re-invigorate our clothes by getting a fresh eye and take on what to put together. So that’s exactly what we did, and hopefully will do on a monthly basis. We will then be sharing the outfits in posts on both of our blogs, to see what you all think and to show that even if you feel like you don’t have anything to wear, you probably do! All you need is a fresh pair of eyes (a friend) to take a look and get creative.
My outfits below were chosen by Lisa, we both got a little carried away as it’s our first try and ended up putting together evening and casual looks.

Casual:

The Casual look was my favorite out of the two, because I hardly ever go for monochrome style outfits as always end up wearing colour. It was great to see items put together that I wouldn’t have thought of doing and then end up loving it.

Lisa’s Thoughts:

Paige’s wardrobe is full of gorgeous gorgeous pastels and is something you always see her in, but when I saw this gorgeous skirt in her pile of clothes I had to use this somehow. The pattern is adorable and the style is very now. I wanted to show off the style of the skirt so I chose a cropped woolly grey jumper to keep her warm and matching grey tights to compliment. Her hairband was bought when we were together – sentimental value – and just goes really well with this. Teamed with these vintage style lace up pumps I really do love this outfit. This is definitely something I would wear and probably my favourite out of the two.

Polka Dot skirt – Mod Dolly
Grey Jumper – Ebay
Grey Tights – Primark
Black lace up shoes – Thrifted
Necklace – Primark (about 3 years ago)!
Head band – Jack Wills

The Evening look for me is more of a (dare I say it) ‘Smart casual’ affair. I would probably wear this in the day as well if I was going somewhere particularly nice. I really do like how Lisa captured my personality and sense of style here and looks like something I would put together myself.

Lisa’s Thoughts:

As soon as I saw this navy pinafore I knew I had to use it somehow. I wanted to incorporate some of Paige’s pastels so I waded through her enviable collection of gorgeous blouses and came across this pretty teal number. I love teaming navy with teal as I think it compliments really well, and this collar pops over the pinafore perfectly. I teamed this with a delicate lace cardigan so you can still see the teal through it and the ever so cute mary jane sandals which match perfectly. I was very proud of myself for this one!

Lace Cardie – Chicwish
Mint green embellished blouse – Chicwish
Navy pinafore dress – AXParis
Grey tights – Same as before (Primark)
Mixed pastel and cream bow heels – Diksi
