‘A bed of grass, a soft green pillow’ (Hunger games fan anyone)?
Today was the day I finally got to wear this beautiful dress from Chicwish, one that has been on my wishlist as soon as it hit the new arrivals in spring. I went to spend a few hours at my best friends house, as it’s her birthday tomorrow. (Happy birthday Jodie)!! So, with forecast sunshine and an excuse to dress in something pretty I knew today was the day.
Luckily getting photos good enough to show the dress came easy this afternoon, as the sun was shining and Jodies area is full of little surprises and green areas. I really enjoyed dancing around in the sunlight, with the big gathered skirt swaying. It is one of those dresses that you don’t see very often, and that you know wont be found in Primark. That’s what I love so much about Chicwish is that the prices are very fair, and for what you get is something unique. Whenever I wear something of theirs (and I do have a growing collection of Chicwish items) I always seem to get compliments on how different they are and nice.
This dress may be a bit twee for some people, but for me it is perfect. Floral’s alone are a must have in my wardrobe, but lace as well was a treat. As it is a very garish and statement dress, which I think can be worn dressed up and down, It has to be styled relatively muted down. I went for a classic summer trend, denim jacket and heeled sandals. I just need a few occasions to wear it now and I will be happy! Bring on the sunshine.
